Brief
Under increasing pressure from the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) to produce cost savings, Johnson & Johnson Medical found themselves in a deadlock with the government agency’s procurement department. As a producer of premium medical devices with a track record for improving patient outcomes, J&J knew they had to find a new audience within the NHS who could better understand the “big picture” value they were delivering.
Solution
To cut across silos within the NHS, we helped them define and launch a game-changing value proposition called Future Health™ – a fresh new way of demonstrating the significant contribution J&J technologies could deliver across the care pathway.
Results
A pilot programme that is now in place is expected to deliver a 60% sales increase over the next two years and is already demonstrating the potential of Future Health as a strong business model for J&J in the UK and beyond. Most importantly, it’s bringing real value to all healthcare stakeholders – government, clinicians, the NHS and patients.
